Me-Dian Credit Union is Canada’s first Indigenous financial institution, proudly serving communities across Manitoba for over 45 years. What started as a small credit union with a few dedicated members has grown into a trusted financial provider focused on accessibility and inclusion.

Our History

Me-Dian was founded in 1978 as the Métis Credit Union of Manitoba as a closed bond credit union.

This means members share a distinct association based on religion, profession, culture or some other criteria. Nearly every credit union in the province has been closed bond at one time or another.
